Come and meet the new vicar – Thursday 5th July
The PCC met with Bishop Andrew last week, to make plans for selecting a new vicar. The position is currently being advertised, with the advert below featuring in the Church Times until 25th June.
|Sarah Bissel, Mike Brooks and Bishop Andrew will draw up a short list (on 27th June) and promising candidates will be interviewed at All Saints’ on Thursday 5th July. You are all invited to attend to hear the interviewees give a short sermon and a presentation on a key issue of the Parish, and to have a chat over lunch. In the afternoon, the candidates will be formally interviewed by Sarah, Mike and Bishop Andrew, and members of the PCC will engage them in a round table discussion on important aspects of the Parish.
All being well, we should have a new vicar by October! In the mean-time:
The teams that Rev. Louise set up are running well! We hope you are enjoying the services that Jacki & Mike are organising, and the music arranged by John and the music team. Have you had a look at the new bright & shiny and easy-to-use website designed by Ben? It’s a great way to find out the latest news and events!
Here’s a reminder of all the teams and their leaders: Jacki & Mike Thomas – Worship, John Sturgeon – music, Nicki Barratt – funerals & residential homes, Michelle Sturgeon – parents & toddlers, Ruth Norris – schools, Peter Norris – buildings and site, Colin & Barbara Carter – pastoral care, Richard Golding – technology, Ruth & Peter Norris – Deanery Synod representatives.
What you can do to help:
– Keep praying that God will send us a great new vicar.
– Pray also for the teams, and feel free to offer feedback to the team leaders.
– Get creative and write a “Message of the week” for the website – send your ideas to Richard Golding.
– Are you good with Microsoft Excel and could spare ~2 hours per week? We are looking for someone to take over the responsibility of the finances. Please speak to David Williams, Mike Brooks or Andrew Giles if you could help.
