Church and café closure: Many thanks to all the volunteers who helped man the cafe during the first three weeks of August. The café and church is closed to daytime outside groups from Monday August 20th through Friday August 31st. However the Wednesday 12:30 and Tuesday Celtic Prayer 9:30 services will still take place. 12:00 prayer will take place Monday 20th but not Monday 27th August. Jenine and Gavin return to manage the cafe on Monday September 2nd and everything else returns to normal on that date

Nigel Richard’s service of collation and induction Monday October 1st at 7:30pm This is a big event. We held a planning meeting with Nigel on 15/8/18. The service will have the Bishop, Archdeacon, Area Dean and other local dignitaries attending – all are welcome. We are expecting around 200 to attend and as well as hoping as many of you can attend as possible we are looking for general help and particularly with refreshments afterwards.

Harvest Services – Sunday 7th October Advance notice of Nigel’s first service with us – he will be giving the sermon at both services.

Saturday Septmeber 22nd Jazz Fringe Event: A Jazz fringe event will take place at All Saints on the evening of September 22nd. More details to follow! We are hosting the event and running a bar – help would be welcome!

New Treasurer sought While David Williams is kindly staying on for a little longer, we are appealing for a new Treasurer to come forward. Are you good with Microsoft Excel and could spare ~2 hours per week? We are looking for someone to take over the responsibility of the finances. Please speak to David Williams, Mike Broos or Andrew Giles if you could help.

Reminder of which Team Leaders to be approached on different aspects of church life  Any questions about what’s going on and why? Please speak to one of our friendly Team Leaders: Jacki & Mike Thomas – Worship, John Sturgeon – music, Nicki Barratt – funerals & residential homes, Michelle Sturgeon – parents & toddlers, Rush Norris – schools, Peter Norris – buildings and site, Colin & Barbara Carter – pastoral care, Richard Golding – technology, Ruth & Peter Norris – Deanery Synod representatives, Andrew Giles and Mike Brooks – Churchwardens.

And please pray for them and for God’s will during this period of preparation for our new vicar’s arrival!
