Safety Hub (plea for helpers)

A plea to you lovely lot of Church volunteers involved with “more than a shelter” and how wonderful that all of the community are coming together to support the most vulnerable adults in our community . The amazing Street Angels and the newly set up Safety Hub are on a plea for “Hub Angels” So when the more than a shelter finishes this Sunday, why don’t you find out more and continue your volunteering with those most vulnerable adults and become a Hub Angel? This is a fantastic volunteering opportunity in which I previously volunteered for on a Friday night (before becoming involved with the Night shelter) As a hub angel you would be based inside the Windsor Baptist church and working alongside paramedics and police to provide support to people within the night time community. This could be providing a hot drink to one of Windsor’s homeless or even providing a friendly ear so that they can have a chat as well as supporting adults out in the town at night. The safety hub operates on a Friday and Saturday evening from 9.30pm until 3am and you would be based inside the church so that any person that needs respite, support, a phone charged or first aid can get the support they need in a warm and safe location.
Full training and support is provided. Please check out the website
I can honestly say that personally volunteering as a hub angel 😇 has been another totally rewarding experience as well as being involved in providing the mini bus pick ups and staying at the church until 11pm to ensure that the guests are “settled” 👍
Please if you can spare some time when the night shelter finishes to continue volunteering and continue to support those vulnerable adults who often pop in to the safety hub as well as other adults who may need support on a night out in Windsor at the weekends then find out more.
